Ms. Elakkya M., Indian Research Scholar.

Elakkya is an incredible research scholar found at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. She is unique in her endeavours and awe-inspiring here at the Pusa campus with her innovative skills, questions, problems etc. She belongs to the state of Tamil Nadu. After graduating with a degree in Agricultural Science from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore. Elakkya received a master’s degree from IARI, New Delhi. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy at the same institute in the discipline of Microbiology. She is an exceptional individual with scientific temper and deeper understanding on the various subjects of her specialization. Elakkya's scientific and skillful knowledge on the molecular studies, brought her to limelight when the University of Lisbon, Portugal offers an internship recently.

International Year of Millets 2023 ends! But failed to recognise the contribution of the greatest millet breeder of world "C. H. Lakshmanaiah". He was popularly known as "Ragi Brahma " and developed 16 Indo-African varieties of Ragi designated as “ INDAF " and screened the world ragi germplasm and identified 5 African donor parents. Very regret to note that the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and United Nations (UN) including Government of India/ICAR/CGIAR institutes not conducted any seminar/lecture etc at national and international level on his contribution to the world millets!!
